Important Notices

To ensure the best results, please read the following guidelines before sending us your electronic files.

Please include all fonts and graphics with every job to avoid any delays.

Although PC (IBM) files are acceptable for both Quark and PageMaker, please keep in mind that we will be opening your files on our Macintosh computers. Typefaces generally are not transferable from IBM to Mac formats, and the Mac version of your fonts can produce subtle variations in results, such as different line breaks and slight differences in the shape of characters. Given your preferences, we may opt to use a suitable replacement font, if one is available.

For most jobs, different colors that touch each other should be trapped. If they don't trap (.3 point to .5 point is usually sufficient), we may have to take extra time to trap them (we would notify you first, of course), and the costs would be passed on to you.

Color-separated art supplied as Illustrator or Freehand EPS files should be separated as SPOT colors whenever possible, not CMYK or RGB mixes. If the program you're using does not support Pantone color definitions, replacing each color with a suitable replacement, such as Cyan for PMS 300 Blue or Magenta for PMS 185 is a suitable solutions, as long as you specify which color is supposed to be which. Remember, our output is a black and white printout for each color. Our imagesetter doesn't care what color you specify, as long as it's a spot color.

It's a great rule of thumb to try sending color separations to your printer before sending the files to us. If they don't separate for you, they won't separate for us.
